GIVE BIG RETURNS WITH GOAL TO RAISE $3 MILLION FOR GALLATIN COUNTY NONPROFITS
Gallatin County, MT — One Valley Community Foundation’s annual Give Big Gallatin Valley, a 24-hour online giving initiative connecting donors with local nonprofits, returns April 30–May 1.
During the 24-hour event, donors can browse participating nonprofits and donate to the causes they care about at givebiggv.org.
Now in its 12th year, the county-wide effort will run from 6 pm April 30 to 6 pm May 1, featuring 265 participating nonprofits.
Since launching in 2015, Give Big has raised more than $20.4 million for 489 organizations, making it the largest giving day in Montana.
One Valley, the initiative’s host, aims to engage more than 6,000 donors and raise $3 million in 24 hours, averaging more than $2,000 per minute.
A key change this year is that all donations will be fee-free, with support from the Jill and Nicholas Woodman Foundation, a donor advised fund at One Valley, covering platform and processing costs so that 100% of each gift goes directly to nonprofits.
Across the county, Give Big raises critical funds for organizations of all sizes. “Community support during Give Big plays a critical role in helping our volunteer fire department afford equipment, maintenance, and training that might not otherwise be possible,” said William Johnson, Public Information Officer at the Manhattan Volunteer Fire Department. “Last year, funding from Give Big helped us purchase two new sets of bunker gear for our firefighters, strengthening our ability to respond quickly and safely when emergencies happen.”
“Give Big is one of the most visible examples of what this community can accomplish together,” said Bridget Wilkinson, President & CEO of One Valley Community Foundation. “In just 24 hours, thousands of people support the nonprofits that meet local needs, and those contributions directly fund programs and services that strengthen our community.”
The initiative is supported in part by headline sponsor commonFont. “We’re honored to partner with One Valley on Give Big to help turn individual acts of generosity into county-wide impact,” said Abby Schlatter, CEO and Co-Founder of commonFont.
In addition to direct donations, more than $350,000 in matching gifts and prize incentives will be available throughout the event.
Give Big will kick off with in-person Give Big Fest events across the county on the evening of April 30, with gatherings planned in Belgrade, Big Sky, Bozeman, Gallatin Gateway, Manhattan, Three Forks, and West Yellowstone.
