Mark is driven by a desire to bring people together to solve complex problems. Having grown up in the Bozeman area and after graduating from Montana State University, he spent 10 years working in politics across multiple states, and has extensive experience in engaging both rural and urban grassroots communities, building politically diverse coalitions, and utilizing the collective impact model to produce outcomes on some of the toughest challenges we face. Mark spent 2 years working as the Policy Director to the City Commissioner in charge of housing and homelessness in Portland, Oregon during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this time, he worked to address the complex challenges and multiple compounding crises that the city faced by breaking down silos, highlighting the need for effective data, improving internal and external communication, and by convening people that didn't always agree to find a common path forward. This experience, coupled with time spent in the private sector at both a sales and marketing firm and at a business development consulting firm, inform Mark's passion for working across boundaries, industries, and ideologies to meet Gallatin County's needs.

Anna Burkholder

(406) 587-6262 ext. 60

Raised in the mountains of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Anna's love for the outdoors led her to Bozeman in 2017, where she pursued a Business Degree with a marketing focus at Montana State University. Her journey with One Valley began as a 4-month Give Big internship during her senior year. During this period, she developed a profound appreciation and passion for One Valley's mission, leading to her decision to stay on and support the organization's marketing and communications efforts after graduating.

After 3 years as a part-time employee, she was thrilled to join the team full-time and continue to expand her work with One Valley. Her dedication to the nonprofit sector is grounded in her earlier experiences working with special needs kiddos during high school and college. Through these experiences, she discovered the transformative impact of investing time in fostering genuine connections, providing support, and creating inclusive environments that empower every individual to thrive.

Anna is currently based in Vail, Colorado, where she spends her free time skiing, hiking, and mountain biking with her partner and dog, Hazy.
