Nonprofit Cafe // Documentation: HR Essentials - Virtual Session

DESCRIPTION:

HR documentation is one of the most important—and most overlooked—parts of managing a nonprofit team. This session will walk through the essential types of documentation across the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, compensation and benefits, performance, and separation. We'll also highlight common documentation mistakes to avoid and why proper recordkeeping matters.

This workshop will use real-world examples and provide practical tools, including checklists and templates you can adapt for your own organization. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of what belongs in an employee file, how to collect and maintain it, and the risks of missing documentation. Whether your nonprofit has one employee or many, this session will help you build systems that save time, money, and stress while strengthening your HR foundation.

WHO SHOULD JOIN:

The Nonprofit Cafe session is ideal for nonprofit leaders who oversee employees or manage their organization's HR function.
