One Valley Community Foundation Hosts 7th Annual Give Big May 6-7

The largest single giving day in Montana to raise critical funds for nonprofits in Gallatin County

Gallatin County, MT- From 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 6 through 6 p.m. on Friday, May 7, One Valley Community Foundation will host its 7th annual Give Big Gallatin Valley event. Over the past six years, the 24-hour Give Big event has helped raise nearly $6 million in funding for more than 195 nonprofits in or serving Gallatin County. As a result, Give Big is the largest single-day giving event in the state of Montana.

Give Big Gallatin Valley, powered by One Valley Community Foundation and presented by Yellowstone Club Community Foundation, is a 24-hour event that brings together the community to support the nonprofits in the County who are performing crucial work. During this 24-hour event, supporters can visit www.GiveBigGV.org to find the causes they care about and give big from one convenient website.

This year, One Valley’s goal is to make Give Big 2021 the largest event yet by engaging more than 7,000 donors to give to the 213 local registered nonprofits, whose missions range from arts and community advocacy to education and environmental needs. Give Big provides an opportunity to show support for all of the organizations in the Valley.

“Each year, we are humbled by the extraordinary generosity of neighbors throughout Gallatin County during Give Big,” said Bridget Wilkinson, Executive Director of One Valley Community Foundation. “Every gift matters to our nonprofit organization partners who are working tirelessly to support the needs of our growing region.”

To abide by state and local recommendations, and preserve the health and safety of the community, Give Big will look different this year. But the goal of coming together as a community to give back and give big remains the same. In years past, the giving day has been enhanced by in-person events such as donor lounges, a kickoff event, and a finale celebration. This year the community will come together virtually with live-stream special events, cash prizes announced via social media and the shared spirit of giving. Throughout the day community members can celebrate online as nonprofits virtually share their stories through interviews, mission videos, and exciting performances. Our online celebration will be broadcast live on www.GiveBigGV.org and One Valley’s Facebook page. Neighbors will be able to follow along and support their favorite causes online on the day of the event. Cash prizes and matching funds generated by generous local sponsors will boost giving and make every gift go further.

There are several ways to get involved during this year’s event:
